South Downs Leisure are looking for a HR/Payroll Assistant to support our small but very busy HR/Payroll team. If your attention to detail is second to none, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Reporting into the HR Managers you must be reliable and should accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and acclimatise in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the role…

·       Daily administrative and HR/Payroll duties of the organisation.

·       Managing HR inbox, responding to queries or escalating where necessary.

·       Accurate record maintenance.

·       Posting job vacancies on Indeed / SDL website and collating applicants.

·       Annual leave / Sickness processing in MHR and updating personal files.

·       Processing contract and change letters.

·       Provide administrative support to the wider HR/payroll team.

 

About you….

Our ideal candidate that we are looking to employ will have excellent IT, administrative and   communication skills and should display an understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and payroll and benefits administration, be good at problem-solving, efficient in scheduling and precise in the recruitment process.

About you….You will be able to work as part of a team to ensure a high level of bather safety. You will also be expected to assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the complex and assist in the setting up of various activities. You must have experience of working in a large comparable leisure facility.

What’s the Role …You will be responsible for maintaining the high standard of cleanliness required for a facility You will carry out various cleaning duties, including washing, emptying litter bins, sweeping, dusting and vacuum cleaning using powered equipment where appropriate, to ensure that the premises, which will include toilets, are in a clean and hygienic condition.

 

About you…Are you conscientious with an eye for detail and a willing can-do attitude to work. The ideal candidate should have cleaning experience although applicants with a willingness to learn will also be considered.

Customer Service Apprentice (Worthing Leisure and Splashpoint Leisure)

Job description

37 hours per week

Role

The role of a customer service practitioner is to deliver high quality products and services to the customers of their organisation. Your core responsibility will be to provide a high quality service to customers which will be delivered from the workplace, digitally, face to face or via telephone.  These may be one-off or routine contacts and include dealing with bookings, payments, offering advice, guidance and support, meet-and-greet, sales, fixing problems, after care, service recovery or gaining insight through measuring customer satisfaction. You may be the first point of contact so a positive outlook is vital.

As an apprentice you can earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills relevant to the Leisure Industry across both wet and dry side facilities.

This position provides the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship over 15 months and achieve a National Vocational Qualification as a Customer Service Practitioner.

Completion of this apprenticeship will lead to eligibility to join the Institute of Customer Service as an Individual member at Professional level.

With training, you will be expected to conduct customer interactions covering a wide range of situations and can include face-to-face, telephone, post, email, text, and social media.

Working with the Administration Coordinator you will assist with bookings, invoicing, banking, and covering reception duties and shifts. The above post involves working a shift rota, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

This post will normally be based at either Worthing Leisure Centre, Worthing; or Splashpoint Leisure Centre, however, the post holder may be required to work at any of the division’s facilities according to the demands of the post, or at the discretion of the management team.

Entry requirements: Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and Math’s and to have taken level 2 English and Math’s tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

Duty Manager Apprentice (Worthing Leisure Centre)

Job description

37 hours per week

Role

The role of a Leisure Duty Manager is to manage the effective day to day ‘front line’ operation of a leisure facility. These facilities will vary in size and the services available such as swimming pools, multi-functional sports hall, fitness suites, crèche, children’s soft play, health suites, climbing walls and outdoor sports tracks. It is the responsibility of the Leisure Duty Manager to ensure the facility is prepared for use in accordance with the planned activity programme and that all areas are maintained to the highest possible standards of safety, cleanliness, security and operational effectiveness. Typically, the Leisure Duty Manager will provide visible leadership to a diverse range of staff such as lifeguards, receptionists, sports coaches, fitness teams and crèche workers. Their responsibility is to manage staff performance and on-going development to ensure staff are motivated, efficient and operate at a high standard.

Worthing Leisure Centre has a vacancy for a Level 3 Leisure Operations/Duty Manager Apprentice.

 

As an apprentice you can earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills relevant to the Leisure Industry across both wet and dry side facilities.

 

This position provides the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship over approximately 18 months and achieve a National Vocational Qualification in Leisure Management.

 

With training, you will be expected to carry out the full range of operational duties at Worthing Leisure Centre, training will be given throughout the term of the employment as part of the apprenticeship the apprentice will need to achieve qualifications in First Aid at Work and a Pool Plant Operator Certificate.
