What’s the Role …

Work as part of a team to complete the daily cleaning schedule, ensuring the cleaning specification is met in full. Support the Cleaning Supervisor to deliver a high standard of cleaning throughout the Leisure Facility.

 

About you….

You’ll be enthusiastic and hard-working with a real attention to detail. Our leisure centre can be very busy, so you’ll need to thrive in this setting. Ideally, you’ll have experience of cleaning in a busy working environment with good customer care skills and knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Heath). If you don’t yet, have it, we’ll provide full training on how to use appropriate machinery and chemicals.

What’s the Role …Our successful candidate will be a strong, confident swimmer. A current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification is essential.  You will need good customer skills and be prepared to work a shift pattern to include early starts, late finishes, some weekends, and Bank Holidays.

Splashpoint Leisure Centre will be hosting an NPLQ course week commencing 15.02.2021.

 

About you….You will be able to work as part of a team to ensure a high level of bather safety. You will also be expected to assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the complex and assist in the setting up of various activities.  You must have experience of working in a large comparable leisure facility.

Payroll Team Leader

Post:  Payroll Team Leader
Salary: £24,526 – £29,003 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (part-time hours considered)
Location: Field Place Manor house (or homeworking as appropriate).

South Downs Leisure (SDL) are looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to help manage the payroll submission from sites and oversee the payroll changes. Our payroll has recently been taken ‘in house’ and is now overseen by MHR managed services via i-Trent HR/Payroll system. This new post holder will act in liaison with the MHR Payroll Co-Ordinator based in Nottingham and our payroll team to complete the monthly pay run.

Main duties of the role…

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the small payroll team to undertake the monthly payroll input for our 7 Leisure sites with around 450 personnel. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Liaising and checking with HR and site administrators on payroll input / changes.
  • Liaising with MHR and employees regarding payroll queries.
  • Assisting with payroll reconciliations by resolving discrepancies.
  • Administration of employee benefits including, pension, cycle to work and childcare vouchers.
  • Providing clear, appropriate, and prompt advice to staff in response to payroll / pension queries.
  • i-Trent System Administration support from updating line management to helping implement the new timesheet module.

About you…

Our successful candidate would need to have the following:

  • Professional Qualification in Payroll services (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience of supervising payroll services.
  • Knowledge and recent usage of RTI and Auto enrolment legislations.
  • Sound knowledge of PAYE and National Insurance legislation.
  • Knowledge of i-Trent HR/Payroll software would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability of supporting junior members of staff.
  • Excellent inter-personnel skills and be able to demonstrate strictest adherence to security and confidentiality.
  • Be able to operate on their own without direct supervision from the Finance Director or HR Executive.
  • Capable of working within monthly deadlines.
  • Have advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP
  • Basic knowledge of furlough claims.

Exercise Referral Consultant

Salary                       £11.22 – £12.31 per hour

South Downs Leisure are seeking two high calibre, enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Exercise Referral Consultant who will deliver of the Exercise Referral Scheme across our sites.

You will be responsible for contacting GP surgeries, organise meetings and presenting the current SDL Exercise Referral scheme to source potential clients.

You also will be responsible for motivating, advising and encouraging referred clients with varied medical conditions and abilities to participate in physical activities.

You will identify appropriate referrals, carry out assessments and follow up appointments, and design and implement safe and progressive personalised exercise programmes. You may also oversee/deliver exercise sessions to referred clients including gym and group exercise sessions (dependent on qualifications).

You will be responsible for tracking a client’s progress and following up non-attendance. To ensure the scheme can be monitored and evaluated effectively you will be competent in using IT and be able to use our in-house database to enter client information. You will work closely with the Fitness Manager to ensure effective delivery, administration, and promotion of the scheme.

If you hold a REPS accredited Level 4 qualification (Cancer Rehab, Cardiac Rehab, Obesity and Diabetes, Chronic Lower Back Pain or others), there may also be opportunities to support the delivery of additional referral pathways.

Main duties of the role…

  • Understanding of current Exercise Referral and NICE guidance (essential).
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual figure of the programme to the Fitness Manager.
  • Ensure monthly targets are met.
  • Attend Group Exercise Instructors and Fitness Advisors meetings and other meetings when required.
  • Assist with outreach projects when needed, including presenting information about the scheme at hospitals, GP surgeries, conferences, webinars, and community events.
  • Be prepared to work at evening and weekends (including cover Fitness Advisor shifts and Group Exercise classes where required).
  • Undertake other duties as may reasonably be allocated by the management team.

Customer Service

  • Ensure that a high level of customer service is maintained by being helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about products sold and building customer loyalty with regular visitors.
  • Work closely with the Management Team by communicating regularly and implementing systems.

General

  • To undertake other duties appropriate to the post that may be requested from time to time by the Line Management and in line with the trust policies.
  • To undertake relevant training when required.

 

Other

To comply with agree policies and guidelines relating to personnel, recruitment, management, discipline or dismissal

About you…

Our successful candidate would need to have the following:

Level 3 Exercise Referral Qualification and a minimum of Level 2 Qualification (either Gym Instructor Qualification (REPS accredited or ETM).

  • Level 4 qualification (Cancer Rehab, Cardiac Rehab, Obesity and Diabetes, Chronic Lower Back Pain or others) – desirable.
  • Experience of delivering one to one appointments and writing gym based exercise programmes for people with medical conditions, understanding their needs and demonstrating empathy.
  • Ability to provide motivation and support making clients visit enjoyable and keep them coming back.
  • Good IT skills (Excel, Word – essential) and the ability to follow processes and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; promoting equality and diversity.
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality, data security, and information governance compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own work load; ability to work effectively and supportively as a team member.

You will also work as part of a team to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and be expected to assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the complex and assist in the setting up of various activities.

The successful candidate will need good customer skills and be prepared to work a shift pattern to include early starts, late finishes, some weekends and Bank Holidays. The candidate must have experience of working in a large, comparable leisure facility and managing a team.
