Community Trustee

An exciting opportunity has been made available to someone in the local area to take on the position of Community Trustee.

The Board are looking to appoint a Trustee preferably a strong background in commercial finance, business or public health although experience in other areas will be considered but not essential. Could this be you? This is a voluntary position though expenses will be paid as appropriate.

The deadline for expressions of interest is Wednesday 12th May.

Duty Manager

Hours:                       Full Time (37 hours per week)
Location:                  Wadurs Leisure centre

What’s the Role …

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising the day to day running of the centre and all activities within the facility, Under the general guidance of the Operations Manager the postholder is expected to oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility. Key tasks may range from programming of pool activities to general maintenance and plant operations.

  • To maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • To supervise all site staff.
  • Key holder duties: to include opening the building in the morning & securing the building at the end of the day.
  • To manage high standards of safety, cleanliness, and hygiene.
  • Carry out regular monitoring checks of all equipment and record & report accordingly
  • Plant operations include carrying out water tests to monitor the water conditions and respond quickly to emergency scenarios. 
  • To set up & set down equipment for all activities.
  • Liaise with the Swimming Programme Manager on the pool program timetable.
  • Lifeguard the pool as required.

 

About you….

The successful candidate will need good customer skills and be prepared to work a shift pattern to include early starts, late finishes, some weekends and Bank Holidays. The candidate must have experience of working in a large, comparable leisure facility and managing a team.

What’s the Role …

You will be joining a well-established, friendly sales team, promoting the Fit4 package across the South Downs Leisure sites and assisting with member retention.  As a Membership advisor you will be dealing with customers on a daily basis both in person and over the telephone.

You will also ensure that a high level of customer service is maintained at all times.

 

About you…. Whilst your excellent customer service skills and passion for people are top of our list, you will also need to be confident, approachable and have great organisational skills.  You will be able to work with other key areas of the centre, such as reception and the fitness team to ensure all sales opportunities are maximised.  Previous sales experience is not essential as full training will be provided, but a positive attitude and the drive to succeed are a must.

Walking Football Coach
Post:                             Walking Football Coach.
Salary                           Dependent on qualifications £6.56 per hour – £12.71 +12.07%.

South Downs Leisure are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated football facilitators to lead and support the Friday evening walking football sessions.

 

About you….

You will be confident, patient, out-going,100% reliable with excellent communication skills.

 

You will be able to work on your own initiative, working unsupervised, whilst following the general principles of the walking football association rules.

 

No qualifications are required but a willingness to complete a Level 1 FA coaching certificate would be ideal. (Initial training requirement will be completion the FA playmakers online course)

A current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification is essential.  You will need good customer skills and be prepared to work an average 37 hours per week shift pattern to include early starts, late finishes, some weekends and Bank Holidays as outlined above

You will be able to work as part of a team to ensure a high level of bather safety. You will also be expected to assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the complex and assist in the setting up of various activities.  You must have experience of working in a large comparable leisure facility.

What’s the Role …

 

As the first point of contact for most of our customers the reception team plays a highly

valued role in the customer experience for South Downs Leisure.

 

  Your main duties will include:

  • To greet, help and serve the customers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • To provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • To take bookings for facilities using a computerised booking system.
  • To advise customers, be knowledgeable on services and products and actively promote the facilities at all times.
  • To handle cash including issuing tickets and reconciling tills.
  • Plus any other appropriate duties as directed by your line manager

 

You will need previous experience of serving customers in a face to face environment and a team orientated approach, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable.
