Update 1 – Tuesday 14:00
Delivery received and the cleaning process is underway. We are delighted to advise that all sessions can resume in the main pool and diving pool from 15:30 today (Tuesday).
Unfortunately, as the leisure pool was closed for longer than the other 2 pools (overnight) the cleaning process must run for a little longer and therefore this pool will remain closed for the rest of the day while cleaning takes place – we expect to open this pool as normal on Wednesday morning.
Thank you for your patience throughout and apologies again for any inconveniences caused.
Delay in cleaning chemical delivery forces pools closure.
We are sadly having to close all three pools at Splashpoint Leisure Centre as we await delivery of cleaning chemicals to ensure the pools are clean and safe to swim in. We have moved sessions around and only closed pools when we were left with no choice, to avoid as much disruption as possible. Unfortunately, we have now had to close the main pool (the last of the 3 pools to close) at 11:00 on the morning of Tuesday 5th October.
Road-lined protests are further holding-up already delayed deliveries, however we are expecting a delivery to arrive this afternoon (Tuesday). Once received, it will take us around an hour to clean the water for us to be able to reopen the pools and for normal service to resume – we are hoping this to be around 17:00, but please do bear with us and do keep an eye on here for a further update, or our swim timetable to see when services resume.
The centre remains open for visitors to use the gym, health suite and group exercise classes.
We do apologise for the inconvenience that this causes our visitors that come to swim and hope you understand that this is regrettably out of our control, however the safety of our visitors is paramount.
