SEA LANES – BRIGHTON

Sea Lanes, the 50 metre National open water heated swimming pool development on the seafront in Brighton, powered by South Downs Leisure.

Opened 2nd June 2023, our combined vision is to create the UK’s first national open water swimming centre of excellence.

Sea Lanes Membership:

  • £52 per month for a 12-month contract, or
  • £57 per month on a rolling month by month basis 
  • £36.00 per month for Concession (under 24’s)
  • £36.00 per month for Concession over 60’s (+disability) Proof required.  Usage (Monday – Friday 10:00 – 15:00)

     With a £35 Joining Fee. 

As well as swimming at Sea Lanes, full membership will include gym usage at  Southwick Leisure Centre, with brand-new state-of-the-art gym facilities and swimming at Wadurs Swimming Pool which hosts a heated indoor 25 metre, 5 lane pool.

What size is the pool?

The pool will be a 50m pool.

I am a FIT4 Member - can I use Sea Lanes

Absolutely, FIT4 Members can use Sea Lanes Monday – Friday 10am – 15:00.

Can Non Members use the pool?

£11 Non-Member Adult per swim
£7 Under 18’s/students/60+ per swim

Adult Coaching – Non-Member £12.00 per session | Members £6.00 per session.

How many lanes are there in the swimming pool?

There will be 6 x 2m lanes meaning the swimming pool has the capacity to hold 90-100 swimmers comfortably at any one time.

Will the pool be open if there is a thunderstorm?

Please check the Sea Lanes website for any last minute closures.

Is the swimming pool sea water pool?

No, the pool will be chlorinated.

Do swimmers need to wear a swim hat in the pool?

Yes, all swimmers are required to wear a swim hat.

How do clubs hire the pool?

Is the pool be heated all year round?

Yes, the pool will be heated all year round between 15 and 19 degrees.

How do I cancel my membership if I have changed my mind?

Casual Swimming Prices

£11 Non-Member Adult per swim
£7 Under 18’s/students/60+ per swim

Adult Coaching – Non-Member £12.00 per session | Members £6.00 per session.

FIT4 Membership – Monday – Friday (10:00 – 15:00) swimming is included in membership.

How to travel to Sea Lanes

As an award winning Sustainable Trust, we suggest green travelling to and from Sea Lanes.

Cycling
There are an abundance of bike racks available.

Walking
Accessible routes along the seafront both and east and west of Sea Lanes.

Buses
Please find the bus routes for Brighton and Hove or you may like to download the Brighton and Hove app. Travelling east to Sea Lanes, here are the timetables for Stagecoach.

Train
Nearest train station is Brighton.  There are various buses that run from the station to Madeira Drive.

Car Parking
There is Pay and Display along Madeira Drive.
