We are getting ready to welcome you back…..


South Downs Leisure is looking to transform the gym space at Worthing Leisure Centre into a Covid-19 safe space and re-open the gym once the government give the green light. 

We are creating systems to safeguard customers and staff that will go beyond industry wide guidance.  We are still working on the layout but plans are afoot to transform the main sports hall at Worthing Leisure Centre into the largest gym space in West Sussex to allow ample social distancing in an area 17,200ft2.


Questions and Answers for Re-Opening

When will the centres open?

We plan to re-open Worthing Leisure Centre, Davison Leisure Centre and Field Place Manor House & Barns in early July 2020 (phrase 1)

Will fitness classes start back in July?

Absolutely. We plan on fitness classes being run at Worthing Leisure Centre, Davison Leisure Centre and Field Place Manor House & Barns. We are currently working on a temporary timetable, so watch this space!

Will all the gym's be re-opening in July?

We are currently turning the main hall at Worthing Leisure Centre in to the largest gym area in West Sussex. Your safety is our highest priority and by doing this, we can safely allow social distancing.

The gym at Davison Leisure Centre will also be opening in July.

Splashpoint Leisure Centre’s gym will not be opening in July.

Will the weights room at Worthing Leisure Centre open in July

Yes, we plan for the weights room to be open but with reduced capacity to keep everyone safe.
Customers will need to book online prior to visiting the centre.

When will the swimming pools open?

We are working within government guidelines and at present, the pools will not be opening in July 2020.

Will there be any Indoor Cycling?

Yes, we plan to turn the current gym at Worthing Leisure Centre in to an Indoor Cycling Studio (22 bikes) and also the virtual indoor cycling studio will be running.

Will the steam room and spa be opening in July?

Unfortunately the steam room and spa will not be opening in July.

Are the Tennis Courts open now?

Yes, due to government guidelines, we have opened the tennis courts free of charge.All players must book a court via our app or online booking system prior to playing.

Will the badminton courts be available in July?

Yes, we plan to have badminton at Davison Leisure Centre as from July.

When will the creche be opening?

At this present time, we are unsure.

Will Walking Football be starting back in July (Phrase 1)

Yes, we are delighted to announce that Walking Football will be starting back in July (reduced numbers and with regulations – more info to follow soon.

What will happen to our FIT4 Membership?

Rest assured that we will be freezing direct debits for our FIT4 and Aquaschool members whilst the imposed closure is in place.  There is no need to cancel your direct debits.

I want to cancel my FIT4 Membership

Unfortunately, due to all our centres being closed, we are unable to process any cancellations at this current time.

Please rest assured that NO direct debits will be taken whilst our centres are closed.

I pay upfront for my membership

All FIT4 memberships paid upfront will have their memberships extended for the duration of our centres being closed.

Can South Downs Leisure help me with advice or exercises that I can enjoy at home?

Our fabulous Chief Executive has demonstrated a great workout to try at home.

Are there be any online workouts?

Absolutely, workout at home with us.  South Downs Leisure is one of the first in the country to offer live streaming direct from our app.

Can I hire some equipment?

Unfortunately, all our centres are closed and we are NOT able to hire out any equipment – apologies.

How can we keep everyone active during closure
